Jacqueline, I couldn't agree with you more. In past years we've seen alfafa contaminated with Salmonella, snow peas contaminated with Cyclospora, and numerous other epidemics of food borne illness. It isn't the food - it's the large scale agribusiness and the global distribution that makes it possible to make so many people sick and cost billions. No, don't shoot the spinach - it's only the messenger.
