» Feature Writer Mary Luz Mejia - Conscious consumption

Hola Jacqueline- you raise a number of good points. Up north a little further from you in Toronto, despite a spate of wonderfully produced products, you'd be hard pressed to get anything too tasty in the deep chill of winter (unless canning and preserving is your thing and it's not mine either. I'm proud of the fact that most nights, I make a home cooked meal. Canning? Don't push it!). I try to buy locally when possible- from meats and veg. to fruits and bread. But sometimes, that Brie wheel or hunk of nutty-flavoured Manchego calls and I'm willing to open the door. As with most everything, moderation I think is key in this debate as well....
